TaxSnap ("the App") is developed by Gil Finkelstein. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and how it is stored.

TaxSnap is built with a privacy-first approach. All your data — receipts, expenses, and tax estimates — stays entirely on your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to external servers.

Information the App Accesses

The App may access the following information solely to provide its core features:

Camera

Used to scan and photograph receipts. Photos are processed on-device to extract vendor, amount, date, and category information. Receipt images are stored locally and are never uploaded or shared.

Photo Library

Used to import existing receipt photos from your library. Selected images are processed and stored locally on your device only.

Location

Used to automatically detect your tax region for more accurate tax return predictions. Your location is processed on-device and is not sent to any server or third party.

What We Do Not Collect

TaxSnap does not collect, store, or share any of the following:

Personal information such as your name, email, or phone number. There is no account creation or login required to use the App.

Financial data, tax information, or receipt contents are never transmitted off your device.

Usage analytics, tracking data, or behavioral information of any kind.

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Data Storage

All data — including scanned receipts, expense totals, tax estimates, and exported reports — is stored exclusively on your device. If you delete the App, all associated data is permanently removed.

Exported Files

When you use the Export feature, TaxSnap generates a PDF summary or CSV spreadsheet on your device. These files are shared only through your device's native share sheet (e.g., AirDrop, email, or file manager). TaxSnap does not retain, upload, or have access to exported files after they leave the App.

Third-Party Services

TaxSnap does not integrate with any third-party services that collect user data. No data is shared with advertisers, analytics providers, or any other external parties.

Tax Estimate Disclaimer

The predicted tax return feature provides estimates based on your configured tax region, average tax rate, and categorized expenses. These estimates are for informational purposes only and do not constitute tax, financial, or legal advice. Please consult a qualified tax professional for official guidance.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
